Perseverance (Loop Poem)
Perseverance will keep you from falling
Falling prey to the darkness of Defeat,
Defeat is a foe that laughs at Success
Success is right there for you to meet
Meet it with all that you have in you
You are the one who can always choose
Choose to be the best and always be true
True because you were not meant to lose
Lose not the goal set for you to be won
Won indeed to dry that crying eye
Eye on the winning for you are the one
One who gets going, gets running, aims high!

Loser
If you look at how high
The wall before you is
You'll be too scared to even try
So sure that you will miss.
If you look at the waves
You will lose your breath
Before you even take a swim
Afraid you will get all wet.
If you think of the Past
And blame all that you are
To those memories that don't last
For sure, you won't go very far.
A man who keeps looking back
Never gets to take the chance
He keeps counting the things he lacks
He believes in retreat, never advance.

Simple Life -Acrostic #3
Stay focused on goals and dreams,
Identify those that need change.
Many trials discourage it seems
Persevere, for winning is in your range
Live honestly and work with pride
Excellence will soon be at your side.
Leave worries and anger, be free!
In Faith, trust in God's care.
For life is short, so live peacefully
Everything has a reason to be there.
'Be joyful in hope,
Patient in affliction,

Doors
A door may open
Or it may close
It may be wooden
Or steel, I suppose.
A door keeps us in
Or may lock us out,
A door may be silent
Or with noise, may shout.
Doors are for safety,
Our protection -
May rot in antiquity
Lose purpose and mission.
A door like chance,
Can open a dream.
A door like romance,
Can cause some steam.

The Truth Cannot Change
Truth has a way of exposing
Hidden falsehoods and the Lie
Once said, it sets on cutting
And anger can be seen in the eye
Wrong, when revealed, reacts
As always it will try to reason
But we can never change facts
To state them is not judging one.
God cannot change for man
His Character is eternal
The clay cannot make demands
Since he is only mortal.
Sin has been so defined
And the One Who made all creation
Will one day draw the line
And judge between Truth and Deception.

Ink Bottle of Life
The pain and sorrows in life's hurdle
Are all contained in bottled record.
For our Experience is the ink bottle
Where the dipped pen draws many words.
The souce of writers' inspirations
From it the passion ink flows through
To weave the lines and compositions
Of life and loves that we once knew.
'He who pursues righteousness and love, finds life, prosperity, and honor.'
Proverbs 21: 21

Resentment
It is poison for the soul
That venom called resentment
It breaks up what is whole
And to hatred it gives vent.
Its cruel tendrils block
The heart and makes it cold
Makes kindness hard as rock
And dark its ugliness as told.
It robs the owner of sleep
Torments him with disrupted peace
Mutes the prayers that he keeps
What kind of suffering is this?
Resentment is an illness sure
That ends in soul unhappiness
And there is only one good cure
That is the release of Forgiveness!

In Suicide, There is No Freedom
In suicide, there is no freedom
More questions left than there are answers
Deep regrets they soon will come
With grief, and tears, and doubting prayers.
There is an endless asking of 'Why? '
And a gnawing ache for a last embrace
Facing a reality - it's not time to die
But a silenced voice, gone without a trace.
The pain Suicide leaves is never gone
There is never relief, nor comfort, nor ease
Just the emptiness of a lost loved one
And then the chasing of that elusive Peace

At Least We Had Loved
To have loved someone
In the brevity of Time
And to be loved in return
Is true Happiness sublime.
In my life I was blessed
To have had you to love
And to know that you loved me
Is my gift from above.
For it is the better part
Of this finite existence
A real blessing for our hearts
Separated by distance.
And I'm thankful each day
In my life I found you
For some just die away
Without a love that is true.

Just When I needed You
Was it the twist of Fate
Or a wink of Destiny
Or the humor of fleeting Chance
That Love brought you to me?
It was a time of sadness
And this heart had so much pain
But you came and filled it with gladness
Yes, to love again was not in vain.
The second Love they say is best
Now I believe that is really true
And all my hurts were put to rest
For you came... just when I needed you!
I love you and thank you!
