Not Yet Down
I have wounds too,
Like you do.
Some just take too long
To heal they hurt
For many years,
The pain they birth
Have dried my tears.
I have scars too,
Perhaps you do.
Seems Life's battles -
They do not end
All these struggles
Where Lessons lend
Insight and some truth
There lies the fruit.
I am tired and weary
Like you, maybe.
And yet I find

The Fruit of Our Lips
How permanent like words
Each passing day leaves its mark
How a great fire in the woods
Can be made by a little spark
How easy to bring forth Harmony
By lighting our words with grace
How great a little Kindness can be
Spread forth in the human race.
Fan the flame of goodness and love
Speak words of forgiveness and care
Usher the blessing from God above
The fruit of our lips these bear.

Empty Cans
The foolish man speaks
With the loudest voice
Like little empty cans
That make the most noise.
Those who are hollow,
No wisdom to be found
But full vessels we know
Can silence their own sound.
The more the words
The less, the meaning-
For silence accords
A deeper understanding.

I Have NO Atrophy, Sorry!
The bias heat is on us
With that low fraudulent study
For vain deceit is saying thus:
Born-agains have atrophy!
I wonder what the vague source
Of such misinformation
What dubious medical course
Would credit that transgression.
The best that I can say
My brain does function well
Stored all verses with each day
All dates and numbers I can tell.
From social security code
To my family's mobile numbers
My brain's in full memory mode
Try me and I will not falter!

Ask A Mother
If you're looking for a juggler
If you know 'bout superpower
If some problems cause you anger
Ask a Mother.
If you're down and in the gutter
If Life's worry's getting bigger
If you think quitting is better
Ask a Mother.
If the hurts they make you bitter
If your love's 'not ever after'
If your Hopes fade like a flower
Ask a Mother
If you find there's no one there
Or you may have lost your mother

Emotional Surgery
Choices cut, but like scalpel
Are needed to bring healing
To make the blinded person well
And clarify his thinking.
For Love like cataracts gray
Truth to make them white,
For 'Love is blind' they all say
And lovers lose their sight.
Not able then to see control
And sheer manipulations,
Repeatedly they make the fall
To masquerading passions.
With pain, this cut I must make
In deep emotional surgery-
Pretentious 'love' I must forsake
And from you I must be free.

Remnants
Agonizing memories
Afflict the crushed, saddened soul
Fleeting thoughts of intimacies,
Shades of love no longer whole.
Those sweet fragances and scents -
With soft music, their own song,
Witness now that love is absent,
Tell her where she once belonged.
Letters left are now tear-stained
Photographs like ghosts of past,
Remains of a heart deeply pained
Remnants of a love that was.

Whitewashed Tombs
Whitewashed tombs He called them
Who appeared all pure outside
Those sly religious leaders
Corrupted and filled with Pride.
He knew their vicious schemes
And the venom in their hearts,
We find them here it seems
Still active in these parts.
My country is full of such
Vile Hypocrites displaying
Deceptive games that touch
The unwise who keep believing.
Jesus hated Hypocrisy
Those cunning masks of Pretense
Sinners must have true Honesty
Repent for their sin offense.

Sneakers
I am left at the empty doorway
Shabby, muddy, unclean
My faded colors mutely say
Where, all this time, have you been?
The rains have made me wet
How loyal I have been
Asked how could you forget
Together times we've seen?
I saw all that commotion
As they took your body away
I heard the crying, then Silence
As Death closed the end of that day.
Who now would care to wear me?
Wash all this grime with soap
Gone are the hands I long to see
Gone is my master and my hope.

These Tears
These tears will never erase
The pain my heart now bears
From memories of days
We shared in love and cares.
Tears now shed from my eyes
Flow constantly in sorrow -
They came with your last 'goodbye'
And the uncertainty of tomorrow.
Tears that may in brief respite -
Comfort, release the heavy burden,
Fail to drown the grief with it
And fill the vacuumed heart again.
