Stroke One
Head throbbing
Heart pumping
Neck stiffens hard
Cannot move forward
Vision now doubles
Hearing inaudible
Everything's white
Something wrong with sight
What can be done
When it's Stroke One...
Beep beep the monitor
Out goes the doctor
'She will survive'
(I'm still alive!)
Bless this good child
The stroke was mild
Of symptoms, none
Sneaky Stroke One
So if I misspell
It's my eyes, they aren't well.

Divorced From Alcohol
Divorced from Alcohol -
Didn't pay alimony
Just regained my soul
And now I'm feeling free.
It was really amicable
There were no last regrets,
She said I will be able
In time, learn to forget.
Her scent though, still lingers
And dries my throat with thirst,
But I swore to be sober
And my life always comes first.
Yes, I have left Alcohol
And have no need to return,
My being is now whole
It's only in dreams I yearn.: -)

Tangent
We are indeed two parallel lines
That run in eternal agreement
Continuously our course defines
A harmonious stand of our sentiments.
This united length of partnership
Side by side in platonic direction
Perpetual lines of enviable friendship
Will never be found in an intersection.
Fate may be kind, our lives may cross
Destinies in a future engagement
But at the moment, we are at a loss
Our lives, our lines are just tangent.

Realities
As we grow older we realize
These basic truths before our eyes:
The emptiness of wealth,
The dignity of work,
The value of good health,
The need to make our mark,
The gift of family and friends,
The ugliness of strife,
The permanence of change,
The brevity of life,
The comfort of true love,
The truth of God above.

Rain
Today I watched the falling rain
Rice paddies drinking droplets sweet
Heaven watering farmers' grains
As stalks shoot up their growth to meet.
The scenery shown in verdant wetness
Ushering the harvest of a season
Bountiful proof of Nature's goodness
A rich store of life's provision.
I love the feel and sight of rain
Its cool refreshing sound of falling
I like to think I am the grain
Each dropp of rain shall keep me feeding.

Take a Moment
Take a moment
To look into my eyes
Just before you leave
And say your last goodbye.
Take a moment
To hold me one last time
To feel the love we had
The time when you were mine.
Take a moment
To hear the beat of this heart
And know its pain in pleading
That you will not depart.
For this is time suspended
Engraved in eternity
When our Love had ended
And you are gone from me.

We Should Have Met Long Ago
This heart aches to be with you
How it wished that all the miles
Would just fade out into the blue
And it would be with you all the while
This heart aches for you and me
Longing to bring back that lost time
When so much younger we could be
To share this last love in our prime
Too late it is, though persistently
It torments our hearts for aching so
Fate had played the game so clearly -
We should have met a long long time ago.

Goodbyes Here in My Eyes
Now you gaze and see
Goodbyes here in my eyes
In tears this Sadness flees
When Love departs and dies
Ribboned hearts are now released
From ties and graying promises
For other loves have come and pleased
To cut through bonds with bleak excuses.
And now I shall then set you free
My eyes no longer hold its hopes
My heart lets go, unties Reality
At last untied, where vague Love gropes.

Substance
Today, this pen has the chance,
Its moment of eternal worth -
To weave some words of Substance,
Perhaps in Wisdom, carried forth.
One opportunity to touch and be
A blessing, with Inspiration write,
Messages of Hope, of nature's Beauty-
Images abound for thought and sight.
It will not waste its time or purpose
For days are leaves that soon may fall.
Its ink may dry and in Death, repose
Till then, it remains true to its call.

Fly Swiftly Away
Fly swiftly away
From Love's tender snare
For the net there will lay
Deep affections and care
Seducing your emotions
Blinding sound Reason
Swaying your Decisions
With enchanting Persuasion.
Fly swiftly away
Spare yourself pain
When the sweetness shall mellow
And Departure comes again
Fickle promises break
As the Love grows out cold
'Goodbyes' you have to take
A sad heart you will hold.
