The hourglass
Telling me that you
From this moment's place
In time, will soon will pass.
Love goes through
No hourglass
And I believe that this is true
When all else goes away-
That love is for us

Communication is touching
Another with sincerity
Not just with verbal teaching
Conversing absently.
It is the human spirit
That reaches forth with care
Words so laden with it
In love and knowledge share.

Communication frees
It is the golden chance
For friendship and for peace.

He brought her
Roses everyday
Sat beside her
To talk and pray
Brushed her hair
And on her cheek, a kiss
Held her hand
True love is this
She did not know him
Not anymore
The one she used to adore
But it did not matter

Deception dressed in verse
Vexful to the eyes
When truth is thus reversed.
Wasted talent true
Devoid of substance deep

But merit human trash

All that goes around us, in the areA
Where we live, affects us, we all knoW.
As life goes on we face the dilemmA
Recognizing that the mask of dangeR
Entices, increasing with the passage of TimE.
Now so blind, we retrogressed toward erosioN
Eventually losing our inner human essencE,
Soul, heart, and mind in spiritual illnesS,

With Love, Time is Not (Free Verse, Rhymed)
With Love, Time is not
Nor space and distance matter
Ribboned passion in a knot
One loving heart tied with the other.
With Love, Age is not
Nor even Status break attraction
Kings give up thrones, and all of that
For his lady love's deep affection.
With Love, Race is not.
For Color fades in Cupid's arrow
It conquers all, no matter what
Blind to the sight is what lovers know.

What Will We Leave Behind?
One thing in life is definite
All men will turn to dust
For short is life and finite
This lesson, learn we must.
So when its time for us to go
What will we leave behind?
Will there be tears and empty sorrow?
Or wisdom in our words they find?
Our names be written in their memory
Not wasted into nothingness
May people learn from our story
And learning thus, we live to bless.

Uncertain Tomorrow - Haiti Lesson
When the ground I walk on,
Tomorrow is no longer there.
When my former world is gone,
In an instant all is bare.
Life cut briefly in a second,
No goodbyes nor tears to shed.
Death came suddenly and beckoned,
Thousands fell and were left dead.
Uncertain is our tomorrow,
Time is one wealth we cannot buy.
We cry in tears of so great sorrow,
As men, we're all destined to die.

In the quiet of the night, they come
Once more in floods of memories
Thoughts unclouded by the years
That tears have failed to drown
Fresh as yesterday
A face my eyes
Embraced well
In mind...
You.
Me,
I am
Existing
Not forgetting
It all brings you near
A cherished love long gone
And with them are the longings
A gnawing pain in heart engraved
I have stopped asking the reason why.
