He is in My Boat

Though raging waves of pain come crashing
Though howling winds of doubt and scorn

Plague and rock my boat of living
My sails of Hope lay tattered and torn

Faith my compass is secure
Rain and storms I will not loathe

He gives me the strength to endure
The Lord, my God is in my Boat.

The Fool Says In His Heart

The fool says in his heart
'There is no God'
Of the Divine he has no part
For Humanity is all he had.

Wisdom never wakes in him,
And Insight is ever blind,
Depth of knowledge, all it seems
The seeking fool will never find.

For Knowledge of the Holy
And reverent fear of the Lord
Is the Beginning of all Wisdom
Thus is written in His Word.

Reality (Naani 25 syllables)

The heart is the storage house
Of deepest thoughts, feelings
The eyes mirror them
But the lips open the gates.

'The good man brings out good things out of the good stored up in his heart; the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart, the mouth speaks.'

Luke 6: 45

I Wait For the Rainbow

When my dreams
Like ship-wrecked paper boats
Get dashed in the streams of life
After a heavy rain
I cry.

When my loves
Like a transitory little sparrow
Leaves for the changing of seasons
Never to return
I sigh.

When my hopes
Like rushing sand in an hour glass
Slips through my fingers
About to be lost
I pray.

....then I wait for the rainbow.

Unfair Competition

Strategic games of war
In repetition becomes clear

The style does not go very far
And the truth will soon appear.

The way for elimination
Of competition is quite plain

Usher a war destruction
Fix duels of nations again?

That is really an old story
And to victims of war unfair-

We are all evidently sorry:
Pentagon, Pentagon, are you there?

Simple Joys

For the simple joys I find, I read poetry
Those poems that reach the very heart of me
And perhaps leave a message, unexpectedly
Bringing memories that linger, quite sweetly.

I have a preference for the understandable
Not the vague ones I find indecipherable
With fancy words or terms indigestible
To read them is a hurdle for which I'm incapable.

Dark Times Swallow the Soul

Dark times swallow the soul
Grips the heart into silence
Until nothing remains whole,
Until one lies with Absence.

Dark times eat up all Hope
A trophy of Will's defeat.
Like cataracts, blindness gropes
Perhaps Success, there to meet.

Dark times are misty days
Fade and blown to nothingness
Choice can negate it away
Welcome sunshine, a new day!

Vietnam's Greyhound Racing Must Cease

Of all animals, Man is the most cruel
Vietnam's greyhound racing proves this
That horrible abuse as a gambling fuel
And the use of canines for fun must cease!

Vietnamese should thus raise a loud protest
For these innocent animals sadly wasted
Man's best friend reduced to toys at best
It is repulsive and will never be tolerated!

So stop it please.

Realize

Realize that Love
Like clouds can leave
Blown away by winds of change

Realize that Chance
Like rainbows...falling stars
Sometimes comes only once.

Realize that Time
Like fleeting mists may fade
Dissolve in memory sublime.

Realize that You
Like temporary dust remain
Tomorrow may not feel Love's pain.

I Cry For Children Caught In War

I cry for children caught in war
In my heart their death's a scar
That hurts and pains me through the years
I try to weep these silent tears.
Regrets that they can't run away
To safer places, there to play
Lost legs, lost hopes, their lives aborted
War is the sickle that has harvested
Innocent victims with no defense
Giving reasons that make no sense.
