A Call for the Youth (Cinquain)

Wake up
Grab your future!
Never let them ruin
Country, hopes, dreams, and family
Freedom!

'Teach us to number our days aright that we may gain
a heart of wisdom.'

Psalm 90: 12

I Drown In Words

I drown in words
Because I cannot swim
In very long poems.

I'm lost in a maze
When the meanings
Hide in vagaries.

I can't see in dark
Uncertainties
Of narratives with no end.

But like a cat
Too dumb to run away
I think with Poetry
I will stay.

Poetic Maze (Couplet)

Words laid for a fleeting gaze
Perhaps may disguise a maze

Where the lines meant for reading
Plague more with endless searching

Hidden thoughts and vagaries
Abstract meanings never cease

Claims much time, robs enjoyment
Earns the merit, 'No comment.'

Fever

Joints feel like being crushed
And throbbing is my head
Hot temperature, flushed
Chilling, shaking, on my bed
Gnawing sore is my throat
Eyes are watery with tears
My nose can't seem to take in air
What kind of ailment is here
Just this frustrating fever!

For Lost Children of The World

Dream of rain
Wash the child's own pain
Dream of sunshine
Make him smile again
Trapped in the net
Of terror, abuse
In anguished regret
A lost child let loose
This world must awaken
Let the evil be shown
Our senses to be shaken
These children are our own.

Blind Witness (Minute Poetry Form)

When soul Blindness attempts discourse
Tracing the source
Of the Divine...
Fails to define.

Unseen Truth, unknown Experience
Destitute sense
Births hollow creed
To feed a need.

Worldly wisdom in professions
Rich confessions
Like empty jars
Do not go far.

A Little Concert - No Tickets

I love the quiet of the night
When only little crickets sing

In unison with the gentle breeze
As leaves in trees go clapping

Their way to render praise to these
While flying bats go passing

Flapping wings in harmony
A soothing concert... before morning.

That's Art (Clerihew)

The painter Michaelangelo
Should have done the Sistine al fresco,
Unlike the great Rembrandt
Who worked inside the house of his aunt.

Yourself

Sometimes
You need to forgive
Yourself.

Choose to
Forget and smile
At the Past,
For no erasers
Were invented
To correct it.

Lessons learned
Mold you
For the days
Ahead,
So love
Yourself
And be free...

Be you.

Sponge (Cinquain)

Children
The sponge of life-
Taking in all they see
Absorbing all that's heard and done
They'll be.

and right.' (Proverbs 20: 11)
