We live in a society where increasingly our eco-socio-politico eductation is presented by "court jesters" such as Bill Maher, Howard Stern, Al Franken, et al. Just how low have we sunk when people require a punch line in order to examine any serious topic? It won't be long before the only requirements to become a school teacher will be a great stand-up routine and a colorful clown's wig.

Do not name your children Paris, Britney, Ashley, Justin, Jesse or any other populist favorites because, in 20 more years, there will not be a child in the world who will want those names, the epithets for tired old wrinkled prunes with faded tattoos and droopy piercings, vestiges of a culture no longer sufficiently consumerist to warrant attention or interest from the taste-makers of the day.

The concept of a "billionaire philanthropist" is an oxymoron. If somebody has amassed a billion dollars of net worth, that person likely did so by overcharging for products or services either through monopolistic or oligopoly power in the marketplace. It would be much more impressive to see the "billionaire philanthropist" drastically cut prices for the benefit of mankind rather than merely handing over 10%-20% of personal net worth for purposes of obtaining a tax break long after having gouged the consumer.

As Hurricane Sandy clearly demonstrated, there is a woeful lack of redundancy in the nation's health care facilities. However, take solace in knowing there are no lack of choices in those things the advertisers convince us should matter more. For example, right now, you can purchase at least five different varieties of perfume by Paris Hilton at your local mall so, even if you can no longer find a single hospital anywhere nearby, the good news is we live in a society where you'll never lack for options to smell good while you suffer in pain.

The culture police, aka, the neo-McCarthyites, have erected new scapegoats by which they can censor or attack their enemies. Back in the 50s, if you were deemed to be a communist, your world would come crashing down, in both professional and personal matters. Today, if you have a relationship with any Russian, you might face the most negative repercussions for alleged treason. Worse yet, if you are deemed to be a racist, misogynist, or homophobe, your life will be destroyed instantly. Meanwhile, the Atheist war against the devoutly religious escalates, albeit with one exception: the Islamists are provided special exemption, thanks primarily to the massive, global, propaganda machine they erected, courtesy of the multi-billions at their disposal via the oil & gas revenues generated since formation of the OPEC cartel.
