Virtuous Queen
1.
Virtuous Queen,
suspended by two realities:
tell us stories
of Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob.
Tell us how
you broached
the news to Joseph.
Tell us how they mocked
your immaculate conception.
Tell us of Jesus'
formative years.
2.
Virtuous Queen,
human and divine,
Mother of disciples,

When We Were Young
When we were young
we thought we were immortal.
We played at recess, and after
school, ran all the way home.
Barefooted, we moved over
rocks and sticks.
The only stop was at the bakery
and since we were children
we got fresh bread for less.
When we were young
there were no cell phones.
We lived in a rural district,
there were no phones at all,
except the ones we made,
out of empty milk cans
and a piece of cord.
When we were young
we made cars

Hear I Come-2
All five thousand stand up,
Turn around three times,
Clockwise.
Raise both hands to the sky,
Turn around four times,
Anticlockwise.
Stop!
Bend and touch your toes,
Two times
Stop!
Two thousand sit down,
Cross your legs.
Three thousand stand up:
Wave the banners, right to left,
Five times,
Stop!
Take two steps forward,
One step backward,
Stop!
Throw the confetti,

A Spiritual Encounter
He became acquainted
with the spirit
at an after-party;
the disc jockey changed
the pace from hardcore
reggae to ballads.
He strolled to the bar,
not for a drink, but to sit
and rest his feet.
He was dancing all night,
pretty much, and the platform
shoes were tight at the heels.
Not wanting to seem
out of place, he ordered
a screwdriver;
he never even knew what it was.
A connoisseur made a request;
and he said 'I will have the same'.
Dangling his feet,

Witnesses
Without rests, the anti-Semites
work day and night
to let us forget
'The Final Solution',
'Night of Broken Glass',
'The Sacrificed by Fire'.
The Chosen always hated
but before the Nazis took power
lives were as usual.
It can happen again,
if we don't teach it in the schools.
It can happen again,
if we don't preach it from the pulpit.
It can happen again,
if we don't sing it on the choir.
It can happen again,
if we don't let history
bust anti-Semites heads

Diabolist
Me alone and God
climbing this hill
called life:
My deepest thoughts
I cannot share
even with my dearest friends.
When I pour my heart out,
when I sing the blues,
their cloven lips
clap, claptrap
on the evening news.
Me alone and God
climbing this hill
called life:
In the solid core of my mind,
I realize,
Satan can accomplish
nothing without acquiescence.
For all his evil deeds

Poem Versus Prose
You do not like this poem
And I do not like your prose
Enough with your predicates
And your subjects
In this poem you will find
No commas and semicolons
This poem
Is armed with rhythms
Stanzas and shifts
This poem has no end
There are no colons
In this poem
Your prose is replete with nuances
This poem echoes
The plight of the oppressed
And dispossessed
In your prose I find parentheses

Devil Heads
I saw the Devil last night,
he has multiple heads,
was well tanned.
All his heads were exposed,
except one.
On this head he wears a white hood
with holes at the eyes.
I said you look familiar,
he retorts, of course, I am the Klu Klux Klan,
you should know who I am.
You are black;
I hate Blacks, Jews and Puerto-ricans.
Then all six heads spoke in unison:
'we are many heads but we are one! '
Of the six heads one is black:
he says I am Idi Amin,
I murdered many people
but they did not all go to waste,
I ate some;

Temptation
Temptation:
You never knew when it's coming;
it shows up.
It needs no invitation;
it comes at odd times.
Work is slow...
Down time.
There you are reflecting,
trying to ease your mind
and bim!
Temptation!
Where did it come from?
Who asked for it?
Did you hear her coming?
Did you hear her belly aching?
Yes you did!
Did you hear my response?

War on Injustice
You think you slick,
you think you slippery,
yet we going to get you.
No matter where you from
no matter where you hide:
behind the collar,
behind the stripes,
behind the color,
we going to fight you.
Just so you know,
Injustice,
this is war.
Your skin can't trick me.
Your speech can't fool me.
And your bars can't hold me.
If you are white,
if you are black,
brown or yellow
just so you know,
